THE CLAREMONT LINKING IDENTITIES ORGANIZATIONS NETWORKS (LION) INITIATIVE STRIVES TO PRODUCE NOVEL, RELEVANT AND ACTIONABLE RESEARCH ON POLITICAL VIOLENCE, CONFLICT, AND POLITICAL OUTCOMES.
THE INITIATIVE EMPHASIZES A TRANSDISCIPLINARY APPROACH THAT EMPLOYS MULTI-LEVEL ANALYSES AND INNOVATIVE METHODOLOGIES.
IN PARTICULAR, THE INITIATIVE LOOKS FOR NEW WAYS TO ASSESS THE ROLES THAT IDENTITY GROUPS, ORGANIZED IDEOLOGICAL ENTITIES, AND NETWORKS OF INTERACTION PLAY IN DRIVING AND SUSTAINING ONGOING CONFLICTS, AS WELL AS IN AFFECTING POLITICIAL OUTCOMES.

The Claremont LION Initiative has recently completed the most extensive database on suicide terrorism. The Suicide-Attack Network Database (SAND) documents all known suicide attacks from 1980 through August 2012. In addition, the database tracks dynamic network measures of organizations involved in the suicide-attack phenomenon. See here
